Heather has always had a passion for driving missions forward. She loves creating plans to make dreams and visions become realities and is energized when working alongside people. She was first exposed to philanthropy through Susan G Komen in college and knew that needed to be her career path. Aside from her career, she has seved on many youth-oriented boards as a volunteer and is highly passionate about making sure youth have what they need to feel supported and successful – this is where she finds joy!
She started her official non-profit career at American Heart Association where she had the opportunity to serve in various positions. Some highlights include helping to launch Go Red for Women within the Healthcare Markets pillar and creating best in class online experiences. She last served as a Program Manager overseeing the Business Technology Digital Portfolio for Fundraising, Community Development and Health Strategies. This portfolio included flagship programs like Youth Market, CycleNation and Heart Walk. In 2018, she joined Charity Dynamics, a premier marketing agency that serves countless non-profits where everything starts with strategy and innovation is key. In doing so, she was able to broaden her knowledge of the non-profit space. She served as Vice President, Services and Partner Management where she had the opportunity to improve operational efficiencies and processes, and bring multiple teams together, including UX/Design, PMO, Development, Consulting and Support. She also worked closely with partners to cultivate relationships, find opportunities, and ultimately deliver solutions that helped non-profits push the needle as far as possible.
Heather was born and raised in Austin. She left to go to college and start her career but returned in 2007. She now lives here with her husband and their two boys, one in middle school and one in high school. She loves watching sports – especially when her boys are playing. Football being her favorite! As a family – they love staying active, playing with their two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and spending time out at the lake.
