For Back to School Season 2019, we are challenging EVERYONE to answer that question, by unleashing powerful words of kindness.
Inspired by “I am Enough” a short film PSA by The Kindness Campaign and running nationally in AMC Theatres the first half of August, TKC and Erin Condren are co-hosting the #NationalKindnessChallenge. All it takes is a sticky note and a pen.
Write a kind note for yourself or somebody, & leave it where it can be discovered - a mirror, a public thoroughfare, wherever you want - and snap a photo of it.
In your caption, tell us why you wrote this particular message. Are they words you need to hear? Are they words you know someone else needs to hear?
Tag your Instagram post #nationalkindnesschallenge and @tkckindness @erincondren to be officially entered.
You can ALSO ENTER if you discover a #nationalkindnesschallenge note! Simply snap a photo and post, tag #nationalkindnesschallenge @tkckindness @erincondren, and tell us where you found it. We’ll be keeping track of “kindness hot spots” nationwide!
Everyone who enters the #NATIONALKINDNESSCHALLENGE will be entered to win one of 15 stunning prize packs from Erin Condren. Winners will be announced Friday, September 6th.
The Kindness Campaign is a school-based nonprofit specializing in SEL (social emotional learning), and was founded as a direct response to school-based bullying. But we all know that bullying, loneliness, and isolation are symptoms of a deeper problem: poor emotional health.
That’s why #NationalKindnessChallenge will move directly into the classroom for the month of September.
It’s here where we can set the tone for a positive school year, and in partnership with lifestyle brand Erin Condren and Born This Way Foundation’s BeKind21, do what we do best: teach tangible skills and vocabulary for emotional health.
To participate, educators nationwide will challenge their classrooms and communities with daily challenges guided by TKC’s pillars: Self-Image, Emotional Awareness, Empathy, and Community. Each challenge will strengthen your campus community’s emotional wellbeing, and create an awareness of the power of kindness.
DO IT. Complete the daily challenges with your students and/or classroom, and take pictures or video! No need to do them all to be officially entered, you can complete as many as you like.
POST IT. When you've completed a challenge, upload it to Instagram and tag posts with the following to be officialy entered: #nationalkindnesschallenge #bekind21 @tkckindness @erincondren. Can be posted to school accounts, school district accounts, or educator accounts.
The winning classroom will receive a beautiful pack of Compliment Cards from Erin Condren. The teacher of that class will also receive a gorgeous Erin Condren teacher planner. Our winning classroom will be selected Tuesday, October 8.
