Impact tourism company and emotional health nonprofit team up with a singular goal: To provide more children and adults access to actionable social emotional learning tools
AUSTIN, TX – Fair Trade Safaris, a conservation-focused safari company and The Kindness Campaign (TKC™), a national nonprofit that creates and provides accessible emotional health curriculum and programs to both children and adults in homes and classrooms, have announced a new, ongoing partnership.
Unique in the sustainable tourism space, Fair Trade Safaris forges luxury travel opportunities for “impact tourism” across 14 sites in Africa, by including vulnerable groups in their business model, leveraging tourism for regional revenue, and providing for positive environmental effects. Additionally, 100% of company profits benefit conservation causes, such as WildAid, Global Wildlife Conservation, PAMS Foundation, KopeLion, and more, to combat wildlife poaching and trafficking.
Now, Fair Trade Safaris turns its attention to impact right at home.
“During the global pandemic, modern society faced unprecedented isolation, loneliness, and mental and emotional health challenges on a scale we’ve never seen,” says Fair Trade Safaris Founder and CEO, Saurabh Khetrapal. “That’s why I support The Kindness Campaign in earnest, and the critical work they’re doing to teach and normalize emotional health skills.”
The Kindness Campaign is a national provider of SEL (social emotional learning) curriculum and programs, with a user base largely targeting schools, students, and youth organizations. Since its founding in 2015, it has served over 90,000 children in elementary schools and youth organizations across the country.
In 2021 alone, TKC raised enough money for 35,383 more children in Title 1 schools across Texas to receive their curriculum.
“Fair Trade Safaris has and continues to be instrumental in expanding our impact, by helping us put vital emotional health tools into the hands of teachers and students who need them,” says The Kindness Campaign Founder and CEO, Andra Liemandt. “Saurabh and I are both parents, and I have long respected his passion for giving back. This is only the beginning of a long and fruitful partnership.”
